Things to Do in Parkrose District

The Parkrose District is one of Portland’s best kept secrets. With an extended area that accounts for approximately one third of Portland, there is always something to do in the Parkrose District:

While most Parkrose restaurants do not have access to the same sustainably raised “foodie” ingredients that downtown and inner East Portland do, they make up for it with moderate pricing, hearty portions, authentic ethnic recipes, and a lack of pretension which has unfortunately become a Portland stereotype. Recommended: Pho Dalat, Goodworld Chinese, and Jim Dandy Drive-in, among others

Parkrose attractions still have an air of Old Portland, before urban renovation and Portlandia, while still being family friendly and/or well maintained and respected. Many have no charge, like watching airplanes arrive and depart from Portland International Airport! Recommended: the Grotto, Ballroom Breeze, and Hollywood’s Hot Rod Bar & Grill.

The Parkrose District often hosts free and/or family friendly events to experience a softer side of Portland: one still rooted in its rich history. Recommended: the Parkrose Cruise-In, which features classic and vintage automotives; community and school theatre productions; and the Parkrose Farmers’ Market

The Parkrose District lies in close proximity to countless chain and independent merchants. From the shopping center by the Portland International Airport which features Oregon’s only Ikea showroom store, to close highway proximity to the fabulous Clackamas Town Centre, as well as numerous “undiscovered” indie thrift shops, the Parkrose District has something for you
