It is only Spring in Parkrose, but the PBA already has its sights on the Fall! One of the PBA’s major projects this year is to promote Parkrose as a Halloween destination. We are picking up Historic Parkrose’ great retail marketing event, the Halloween BOGO, and adding a super fun, family friendly trick-or-treating event hosted by Parkrose businesses.
The Halloween BOGO is a shopping event in which local retailers offer an item at buy one, get one half off around the time of Halloween. 2015 will be the events third year and the PBA is excited to pick it up, as Historic Parkrose focuses on more infrastructure projects.
In conjunction with the shopping event, the PBA will be soliciting businesses to participate in Parkrose Truck or Treat! Businesses come together in a big parking lot to offer safe, family friendly trick-or-treating to Parkrose residents. The businesses dress up their cars and themselves and offer candy out of their trunks! It is a marketing opportunity as well as a way to give back and engage with the local community. Parkrose High School is graciously allowing us to use their parking lot on Saturday, October 31st for the event.
We hope that all of the PBA businesses participate in the event!
On a personal note, circumstances are forcing me to end my tenure as the Executive Director of the Parkrose Business Association. I have greatly enjoyed getting to know all of the great businesses in Parkrose and know many great things are ahead. In the coming months, the PBA will be getting a new staff person, as a part of the East Portland Pilot Project, and they will take over where I am leaving off.
I look forward to seeing you all again and wish everyone great prosperity in business.
